“Free Beer for a Year” is awarded as two (2) cases per month for twelve (12) months, for a total of twenty-four (24) cases. Each case consists of twenty-four (24) 12-ounce beers, for a total of 576 twelve-ounce beers. The beer awarded is WISEACRE's Gold Medal winning Sky Dog Premium Lager. Prize has no cash value, is non-transferable, and may not be substituted, except at Sponsor’s discretion. Winner must be 21 years of age or older at time of entry and prize redemption. Valid government-issued photo ID required. Prize must be redeemed in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws, including applicable alcohol regulations. Winner is responsible for all applicable taxes, deposits, and any additional costs not expressly stated. Void where prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary. By participating, entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final.

It’s an admirably balanced beer with a kiss of barley sweetness upfront that dries out to a crisp finish with the subtle hop bitterness. I’m one to slowly sip and savor a beer while writing tasting notes, but I had to catch myself from draining my glass. Sky Dog is just so pleasant, tasty, and easy drinking, it’s no surprise that it took home a gold medal at America’s preeminent beer competition.

I was immediately impressed with Sky Dog’s appearance. The tall fluffy head and clear, straw-gold color looked like a draft pour straight out of a German beer hall. The beer itself was, though on the more subtle side as a light lager, toasty and doughy with an herbal hop finish of pine and grapefruit.
