Located at the corner of BB King Blvd & Butler Ave, just a few blocks from the legendary Beale Street, our downtown taproom is a huge, art-forward space offering 30 different beers on tap and featuring a top-notch pizza kitchen, Little Bettie. The HQ taproom is open seven days a week, allowing for both on-site consumption and the purchase of packaged beer. At the downtown brewhouse, we concentrate on brewing our year-round beers using a 50bbl Braukon and a cutting-edge packaging line that can handle 250 cans per minute!! There is always something happening at WISEACRE, whether it’s Wednesday night trivia, weekly brewery tours & tastings, or enjoying a beer & a slice before catching a Grizz game!
Boom! The soft waters of Pilsen, Czech Republic birthed this classic style centuries ago & the waters from our Artesian wells in Memphis are perfect to create our version today. Pow! This beer is made with German pilsner malt and spiked with 50 lbs. of local wildflower honey. There are delicate aromas of sugar & clover wafting forth from this crisp, smooth Pale Lager. Shazam!
Malted and flaked wheat is used to bring body to this classic ale. A downright wasteful amount of Cascade and Centennial hops are used to give this beer its aromas of grapefruit rind, mango, and melon. Hoppy, pale, and quaffable.
At WISEACRE, we bring together the highest quality North American two-row barley malt and corn from American fields to produce this A-MAIZE-ING beer. Saaz hops, of the highest excellence, are brought from the Czech Republic to lend a gentle balance to our superior brew. When set out to brew the finest American lager, we needed a brilliantly clear and bright beer, with a delicious crisp flavor, easy drinkability, and quenching aftertaste. For all your beer needs. With only 99 to its name, you can compromise on calories, not on refreshment. Lagered cold and long, it’s the perfect beer for sweltering baseball games, cool Fall mornings, Spring showers, or snow angels. Come fly the smooth skys with Sky Dog.
From deep within the earth’s crust, the finest drinking water on planet Earth springs forth to Memphis. This unique aquifer supplies WISEACRE with the most necessary of ingredients for the production of a crisp, light-colored lager. The rains that fell to earth 3000 years ago are filtered very slowly through hundreds of feet of fine grain sand, culminating in a huge underground lake filled with 57 trillion gallons of virtually mineral-free water. With this prestigious water reserve, we supply Memphis with Sands, our one-of-a-kind Lager. Beauteous in its simplicity, it is very low in bitterness and full of delicious flavors of bread and cracker-y malt.
Magical natural process beans from the Konga region of Ethiopia lead the way in this intense coffee stout. This rare variety of coffee leads to aromas of sweet roastiness and blueberry pie flavors. Lactose, or milk sugar, is added along with oats for a silky medium body and a lush finish. Red Bull and vodka done the long way. For old men, not teenagers.
We found inspiration in the beautiful and precocious dog breed known as the Italian Greyhound who is often parti-colored. It sounded like a fun name and we’ve been known to get on the Venga bus + parti a bit too. This beer is brewed with Weyermann’s Italian Eraclean Malt, which is actually grown on the Adriatic coast of Italy, northeast of Venice. Dry hopped with Hallertau Blanc, which is a daughter to Cascade, it’s a great blend of grassy German hops and fruity American hops with a wonderful vinous character. Crisp, clean, with a touch more bitterness than your German Pilsner. But what is an Italian Pilsner?
On a magical trip to Japan, WISEACRE’s brewer and founder fell further in love with the country and the customs he had often admired from afar. Food, communication, architecture, and even beer operate on different wavelengths in different countries and there is much to be learned and admired. It is out of the Japanese tradition of dry rice lager that birthed WISEACRE’s IRUSU. Succumb to gentle rice, smooth taste, and a dry, palate-cleansing finish to this beer which found its inspiration on the other side of the globe including the Ukiyo-e woodblock art influencing this label.
German copper-colored ale with rich toasty malt (smells like really well toasted bread with a touch of honey on it) balanced with a firm, bitter backbone. Drank as the local beer in Düsseldorf, Germany. ‘Alt’ means old auf Deutsche and ale yeast happens to be older than lager yeast. We taking it way back so that you know that we know that we know that you know that we know about being retro.
France and beer are not often thought of together. However, golf and refreshing beverages are. And the “Teamonade” or “Arnold Palmer” is the most refreshing of all golf refreshments. The Alsace region of France grows a distinctive hop called Strisselspalt, and this unique hop variety is used heavily in the brewing process of this slammable lager. This French-leaning Meyer Lemon and Exceptional Black Tea flavored lager is slightly sweet from a brewhouse lactose addition. Jean DeLis (which translates to John “of flowers”) will outdrive any longball competition and make out on the 19th green while streakers run wild in ecstasy.
After flying to Chicago, hitching a ride to Michigan with a buddy, staying over night with another buddy, waking up at the crack of dawn to rent a U-Haul, and loading up a ridiculous amount of hops fresh picked from the vine, Davin drove these fresh flowers over 10 hours back to Memphis to throw them in the tank less than 24 hours after the pick. This uniquely produced beer has over 20 times the typical amount of hops (little aromatic flowers) added to it. The big difference: most of the hops in this batch were picked the same day they were used. Over 300 pounds of hops were picked in Michigan and driven directly into a batch of beer, skipping the normal drying and pelletizing process. Southern colloquialisms led us to the name, which also suggests the sticky, resinous character of these fresh, fruity, citrusy, piney, tropical, chlorophyllic bundles of joy.

The City of Memphis is full of dive bars, juke joints, social clubs, and lounges whose character is created from hand-painted signs, neighborhood boogie bands, juke boxes from yesteryear, graffiti that never washed off and traditions rarely seen elsewhere in BYOL (bring your own liquor establishments). A “SET UP” is the accouterment to the liquor: a bucket of ice and a soda to compliment. We pay homage to the set up by setting you up with a canned cocktail that is good to go when you CRACK THE CAN!!

Then this is for you… But cleaner. Seltzers derive alcohol from malt and yeast fermentation like brewing beer which can leave unwanted flavors or aromas. The Set Up are liquor-based sparkling beverages using high-quality tequila.

Have you ever poured a shot into fizzy water and called it a drink? That’s what we did for you here! Memphis has some of the finest water in the world and we added bubbles, booze, and a little flavoring to keep the specs in line with beer. It’s not a fancy 20% ABV cocktail, but a refreshing sparkling liquor drink.
Oktoberfest is a Marzen, a smooth, clean, and malty German lager that was released each September for Oktoberfest in Munich. The word “Gemütlichkeit” is a German word referring to communal joy usually involving a beer or two and is a part of the traditional German Oktoberfest song “Ein Prosit.
The one lots of people know is the beloved Pilsner Urquell. This was the first golden lager produced, and was instantly a hit. Our Czech Pils differs in many ways from the other pilsners we produce. We start with Moravian barley malt and Czech Saaz hops, the building blocks of any Czech pils, and finish with some unique Wiseacre touches. The hops are a supercharged Cryo version of Saaz, and we added some other unique methods including a lengthy boil (for clean bitterness) as well as an exceedingly lengthy 8 week conditioning time. This makes a smoothness and hearty body in the beer that is the perfect complement to the snappy, herbal finish provided by the Saaz hops. This is an elegant stunner of a beer, but there is certainly no reason to fuss over it. This beer is draft only, so come over and try one to help us celebrate 11 years!
There are some moments in the throes of summer when the blistering heat is inescapable. No amount of air conditioning nor desperate pleas to the heavens will cool you down. You’re soaked to the bone in sweat and in search of salvation. Well, friends, this beer IS your respite, vivifying, rejuvenating deliverance. This super pale-colored creation, with a mouth-watering excess of fruity hop additions (German Callista and Australian Galaxy), is your key to beating the heat. Strong notes of grapefruit zest, Aperol spritz, and tropical popsicle wash over you in waves, and a crisp, dry finish leaves you feeling as though you’ve stripped down to your skivvies to let it all air out. It’s hot out there, folks. Go ahead, embrace your inner nudist – have an Air Bath! Star Party, y’all! Go team.
When you’ve reached your all-time low, you need a parking lot veggie burrito and the warm snuggle of a stranger’s husky (probably named Stash), the winds of change may find this beer landing in your hand. A vigorous dry hopping with Mosaic, Citra, Denali, and Centennial hops adds tons of citrus and ripe tropical fruit flavor while oats add a fluffy texture. It may look strange, but they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder (if you’re an IPA traditionalist we recommend closing them). However, you won’t regret trying this clouded-up version. Your vision may be blurry from staring into life’s bowl of horseshoes or within the thought sausage of unintelligible words inside a glowing book of sleepless dreams, but Bow Echo will help your eyes climb to safety and the chilly water will take care of the rest.

Zip Zero Nada when it comes to alcohol, sugar, and calories, but not when it comes to flavor! Hydrating and refreshing, Hop Zip is charged with Mosaic hops’ resin and tropical fruit notes plus a flavor spritz of natural lime, reminding your palette of a balance between delightful hop flavors and aromas, all wrapped up in a tasty, flavorful sparkling water. What exactly is hop water? This new category is beer adjacent, as it features an ingredient that is unique to breweries (hops) but is closer to hop tea or sparkling water. Hop Zip is non-alcoholic with zero carbs and zero sugars but retains the therapeutic qualities of hops. For ours, we chose Mosaic hops, which create amazing tropical and melon flavors/aromas in beer. An all-cold extraction process led to some different expressions of Mosaic hops.
Our cold brew coffee project has been years in the making. Our friends at Metropolis Coffee have helped us through every step. It is well known that we are fans of coffee and other caffeinated beverages and this cold brew coffee is certainly another way for us to get up in addition to getting down. We are using a blend of coffees with particular attention being paid to Central and South American varieties. The end result is a slightly tart, refreshing brew with plenty of roast and a peanut buttery finish. This coffee is brewed using a cold method of extraction which produces a smoothness quite different from hot brewing methods. The bitterness normally associated with coffee is almost completely absent. There is however, plenty of caffeine. It may not be a good idea to drink more than one of these. This brew can be enjoyed straight from the can, but it is best poured over ice to maximize refreshment.
